The main goal of this article is to investigate interaction and sociability ways of Latin American immigrants who live in the São Paulo city, the context of greater international migratory presence in Brazil. For this, we used the participant observation research technique, following the development of communication vehicles of six groups, collectives and immigrant associations, for about one year. As a theoretical-methodological resource, we adopted the idea of communication as a tie / bond, according to Sodré (2014), in dialogue with the concept of mediator, by Gilberto Velho (2010), in an interdisciplinary perspective that links Communication and Anthropology fields. The results point to the way in which social relations in the city are constituted through coexistence in the common space, as well as to the composition of shared meanings at a socio-cultural level.
