This article outlines a general approach on the territorial rights of the Afro-Colombian population that has been forced to migrate from rural territories to cities and large urban concentrations. This phenomenon is addressed based on the different notions of territory and the main explanatory factors of the deterritorialization of Afro-descendants in Colombia, recognizing the different migratory waves and the impact of the forced displacement of Afro-Colombians mainly from the Pacific region of the country to the cities, which allows to understand the dynamics of appropriation of these communities in urban contexts. For this purpose, an explanation will be made from a social and juridical approach that describes the struggles and claims for inclusion which creates the Afro-Urban territories as a figure that guarantees territorial permanence not delimited by property, but as scenarios for the dialectical construction of the cities that promote the ethnic, political, economic, social and cultural...
