Through a urban home survey conducted in 2,017 in Seridó Potiguar (Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil), in the northeastern semiarid, this article seeks to understand how the intention of mobility in urban areas can differ among individuals, as well as in the face of attributions such as his experience of mobility, sex and age. The methodology consists of descriptive statistics and Qui-square test. The results show that individuals who travel longer distances consider mobility due to longer distances consider mobility due to drought more than the other groups. However, the same is observed for those who return daily and those who spend less time away from home. Finally, this study contributes to the literature by providing an analysis of how mobility intent can be influenced by factors such as the length of time the individual stays away from their usual residence.
