As tribos de Israel: exemplo histórico de empoderamento dos marginalizados

Abstract

As narrativas bíblicas que tratam do período tribal em Israel apresentam um processo de ampla duração histórica, quando os pobres, em grande parte migrantes, se recusaram a continuar submissos ao império egípcio e seus operadores regionais – os reis em Canaã. Por quase 200 anos as tribos resistiram ao estado tributário e aos diversos mecanismos sociais, econômicos, religiosos e políticos que o sustentavam. Fizeram isso a partir de uma experiência ampla de empoderamento, expressa nas diversas instituições vigentes nas tribos de Israel. Essa memória pode nos inspirar em nossas buscas por um outro mundo possível e necessário.

The biblical narratives, mentioning the period of the Tribes of Israel, show a broad historical length, when the poor refused to continue submissive to the Egyptian empire and to its regional operators – the kings of the Land of Canaan. For almost 200 years the tribes resisted to the tributary State and to the diverse social, economic, religious and political mechanisms that supported it. It was accomplished due to a wide empowerment experience, expressed at the many effective institutions in the Tribes of Israel. This memory can inspire our pursuit for a different, possible and necessary world.
