Nota de repúdio da REMHU à criminalização das migrações

A Revista Interdisciplinar da Mobilidade Humana (REMHU) e o Centro Scalabriniano de Estudos Migratórios (CSEM), diante dos recentes acontecimentos envolvendo a violenta deportação para o Brasil e outros países de migrantes em situação administrativa irregular:

1) reafirma que todo ser humano é sujeito de direitos e portador de uma dignidade que não pode ser violada, “sem distinção de qualquer espécie, seja de raça, cor, sexo, língua, religião, opinião política ou de outra natureza, origem nacional ou social, riqueza, nascimento, ou qualquer outra condição” (DUDH, art. 2);

2) denuncia a violência e a “espetacularização” das deportações (que sempre ocorreram nos EUA), o que alimenta a criminalização e vulnerabilização de milhões de pessoas migrantes em situação administrativa irregular, fomentando, assim, uma forma de “escravidão por falta de documentação”: essas pessoas são, de fato, impossibilitadas de reivindicar os direitos mais fundamentais, sob ameaça constante de deportação;

3) defende, conforme orientação das Nações Unidas, a necessidade de fortalecer as “barreras cortafuegos” (ver o artigo da REMHU, no link), que permitem às pessoas migrantes ter acesso a direitos e serviços básicos, sem que suas informações sejam compartilhadas com os serviços de imigração;

4) apoia e incentiva todas as mobilizações populares de resistência e enfrentamento à criminalização das migrações e reivindica a implementação de políticas migratórias voltadas para o “bem comum”, respeitando os direitos de cada ser humano e promovendo a preservação da “casa comum”, o planeta Terra, a verdadeira “Pátria” de todos os seres humanos.
