La migración de las mujeres ¿un proyecto individual o familiar?

En este documento se analizará la migración de las mujeres como actores sociales, sobre todo nos interesa conocer si existe una mayor autonomía o subordinación de las mujeres cuando toman decisiones que afectarán el curso de sus vidas como: emigrar, trabajar o para retornar a su lugar de origen. Se da énfasis a la dimensión subjetiva, o sea, a través de la manifestación personal de las mujeres, de sus percepciones, trataremos de identificar qué factores (edad, trabajo, posición en la familia, status migratorio) han sido condicionantes o modificadores de este proceso de toma de decisiones, como un proyecto de vida individual o familiar.

This document analyses women as social agents in the migration process, mainly, to know if exists a higher autonomy or subordination of women when taking decisions that affect their lives. Decisions such as: to migrate, to work, or to go back to their hometown. This text emphasizes the subjectivity, meaning that, through women’s personal actions and through their perceptions, the author can identify the conditional or changing factors (Age, work, family, position in the family, migratory status) in the process of taking decisions as an individual or family project.
