Abstract
In two thousand years of history of the Catholic Church, there have been many advances and retreats regarding the complexity related to migration flows. Based on the biblical inspiration “I was a stranger and you welcomed me”, the Magisterium of the Church has been growing in importance regarding the category of “migrant”. Particularly post Vatican II, migrants have been seenas potential actors, able to change the course of history, as propagators of new cultures, new experiences, new values, and new ways of living the ecclesial life. The cry of migration, whether for reasons related to war, economics, and climate change, calls the Church to action. Therefore, the Church is the link that can transform humanity, regardless of creed, race, social or economic level, into the large family of sons and daughters of God, “the great human family”, according to the most recent teachings.
Keywords: Magisterium of Church; Migrant; Human Family.
