Regiões metropolitanas do Nordeste: origens, destinos e retornos de migrantes
Abstract
O artigo objetiva estudar o desempenho das três maiores Regiões Metropolitanas do Nordeste - Fortaleza, Recife e Salvador - no processo de absorção, retenção e emissão de migrantes no período 1990-2010. São analisados os perfis dos emigrantes e dos imigrantes nas três Regiões Metropolitanas, segundo o sexo e o setor de atividade dos envolvidos nos processos migratórios. É dada ênfase à observação da migração de retorno para as três RMs, identificando a última etapa dos imigrantes e o destino dos emigrantes, descrevendo o perfil segundo as características mencionadas.

The article aims at studying the performance of the three largest metropolitan regions in Northeast Brazil – Fortaleza, Recife and Salvador – in the process of absorption, retaining and sending out migrants in the period 1990-2010. We analize the profile of immigrants and out-migrants in the three metropolitan regions, by sex and sector of activity in which they are involved. Emphasis is given to the observation of return migration at the three metropolitan regions, identifying former place of residence for immigrants and the places of destination for out-migrants, detailing their profile according to the above mentioned characteristics.
