Cambiamenti climatici e migrazioni. Cosa accade nell’area mediterranea
Abstract
Parole Chiave: Migrazioni ambientali; Mediterraneo; Cambiamenti climaticiAlthough the international community has acknowledged the specific vulnerability of the environmentally displaced a long time ago, it as not reached an agreement on a univocal definition of environmental migration, due to the complexity of the migration flows dynamics. This article specifically examines the Mediterranean Basin, one of the 25 biodiversity hotspots worldwide, with its 46,000 km of coastline, characterized in recent decades by the occurrence of extreme events, such as floods, heat waves, droughts, and desertification. Keywords: Environmental migration; Mediterranean; Climate change
