This paper is a compendious of several research/action works accomplished with wives, mothers and daughters of migrants from Guanajuato about the price that their woman and family should pay in exchange for remittances that can improve their life conditions, but change deeply their emotional balance, filling them with permanent anguish and draining away the meaning of their future. Why to follow if the migratory flow is going to extend to their children and they are going “to be as lonely as when they began”? It also describes the inherent risks of border crossing and of the undocumented stay in the United States. It talks about the other invisible face of dollar for the more and more numerous population that is immersed in the “transnationalized” space.
