Abstract
Toda a dinâmica da vida do povo de Israel é marcada pela escassez crônica das águas superficiais. A seca e a fome marcam presença constante na vida do povo, desde os tempos dos patriarcas e das matriarcas. Populações inteiras sofrem as consequências desta realidade: migração, dependência, opressão. Neste ensaio vamos acompanhar esta realidade, ver como a seca está na origem do estado opressor e, ao mesmo tempo, na origem da resistência profética. Terminamos trabalhando o significado simbólico da fome e da comida como elementos da nossa caminhada rumo à terra sem males.Palavras chave: fome, migração, partilha, opressão, pobresAll life dynamics of Israeli people is characterized by a chronic shortage of superficial water. Drought and hunger have been present in the people’s lives, since the time of the patriarchs and matriarchs. Entire populations suffer the consequences of this reality: migration, dependency, oppression. This article aims to understand this reality and to show how drought is in the origin of the oppressor state and, at the same time, of the prophetic resistance. In conclusion, the article works on the symbolic meaning of hunger and food as elements in our journey towards the land without evil. Keywords: Hunger; Migration; Sharing; Oppression; Poor
